McDonald’s Le Havre Docks and McDonald’s Grand Quevilly recently launched 24 hour food delivery, and called on us to design a full-scale launch campaign.

One of the core target audiences? Gamers, especially students, who make up a large and growing segment of the population. In 2023, 12 million people in France identified as either esports fans or players. On Twitch, live events routinely draw massive audiences.

We wanted to bring this community together around an event that spoke directly to them, while positioning McDonald’s as a brand that gets their lifestyle. The idea: a Call of Duty tournament, streamed live on Twitch and hosted by popular gaming creators, including ZaaKK7.

The visual identity was inspired by night vision’s signature neon green (a reference any gamer would recognize) combined with the pixelated aesthetic of early video games and computing. The artistic direction was deployed across every touchpoint: social media posts, score banners, Twitch overlays, and 3D animated alerts.

The event brought in over 262,600 unique viewers across 12 streamers’ live feeds - not counting the other 135 players streaming the event. Once mocked, night-owl geeks are now the cool kids.
