South African entrepreneurs deserve a digital bank that reflects their image: accessible, innovative, and rooted in their history. The main challenge was to provide the transparency and independence lacking in a country where traditional banks remain opaque, and where professional online banks do not exist - until now. Zazu entrusted our agency with the mission of translating this balance. From the speech to the website, we designed a simple, clear graphic and editorial identity that oscillates between the modernity of online banks and the rich heritage of South African design.
The logo evokes both a rising sun, a symbol of renewal, and a fan of cards, reflecting the bank's services. This design combines geometry and organic gestures to express the harmony between innovation and rootedness. Inspired by the avant-garde of the country's graphic scene in the 90s, we worked on a sober palette - patinated red, neutral tones - and a clean interface to highlight Zazu's technological grounding. Every support, from the site to the program of cards from local artists, affirms a proprietary branding. Zazu now embodies a unique synthesis of technology and culture.
