Bruno is the grandfather of our founders, Barthélémy and Léonard. An Italian immigrant, he built everything from scratch: his businesses, his family. It must be said that he was a man of great courage and an intense worker. Bruno didn’t wait for someone else to do things for him. Yet, his demands never prevented him from being profoundly human.

FAQ

Branding agency in San Francisco

Why choose Bruno as a branding agency in San Francisco?

Because part of Bruno’s story starts here. Co-founder Barthélémy Chalvet designed the UX of Uber Works from San Francisco, before starting Bruno with his brother Léonard. The agency kept one habit from those days: the brand and the product stay with the same team. At 415 Mission St, you work with strategists, designers and developers who are on staff, never freelancers.

Where is Bruno’s San Francisco office?

Bruno’s San Francisco office is at 415 Mission St, CA 94105. It’s one of the agency’s four offices, alongside Paris, Rouen and London. Branding workshops can happen there in person, or over video with the Paris team in the loop. The two cities are nine hours apart, which means your brand keeps moving while you sleep.

What does a branding project run from San Francisco include?

A branding project run from San Francisco covers strategy, verbal identity and visual identity, and sometimes naming when the name has to work in both English and French. Interviews and positioning happen in English. If the brand also needs to speak French, our Paris copywriters write that version from scratch instead of translating it.

What work can Bruno show American brands?

For AIUC, which certifies and insures AI agents, Bruno designed the identity of an institution that already feels part of the landscape; ElevenLabs and Intercom now work with them. For Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, we redrew Rimowa’s aluminum suitcase so it looks born in that world. And for Uber, the UX of a hiring app tested by restaurant owners in Chicago.

Should a European brand change its tone to succeed in the US?

A little, rarely everything. Bruno keeps what gives the brand its personality and rewrites what doesn’t cross the Atlantic. A vague promise, very French irony or false modesty can read as a lack of ambition to an American audience. The reverse is true too: a tone that’s pushed too hard sounds off in Europe. What doesn’t translate, we rewrite.

Can Bruno plan a brand launch in the US?

Yes. Once the identity is ready, Bruno also designs the brand launch: who sees the new brand first, and in what order. For a brand coming to the US, that often means a site in American English, with its own spelling and its own URLs. Bruno’s own site works that way, with a French, an American and a British version.

How long does a branding project between San Francisco and Paris take?

Bruno usually plans three to five months for a full branding project, whether it’s run in English, French or both. Writing two versions of the tone of voice adds a little time; the rest depends on scope, on your decision-makers and on what the brand keeps. If part of your team is in Europe, budget for a flight rather than a train.
