Bruno is the grandfather of our founders, Barthélémy and Léonard. An Italian immigrant, he built everything from scratch: his businesses, his family. It must be said that he was a man of great courage and an intense worker. Bruno didn’t wait for someone else to do things for him. Yet, his demands never prevented him from being profoundly human.

FAQ

Web development agency in San Francisco

Why choose Bruno as a web development agency in San Francisco?

Because Bruno designs and builds under one roof: the designer who drew a page can watch the developer build it and catch the gap before it ships. Barthélémy Chalvet, one of our two founders, worked on an Uber product from San Francisco before starting the agency. We’re also a Framer Expert, and the agency has picked up around thirty awards, Awwwards and CSS Design Awards among them.

Where is Bruno’s office in San Francisco?

Bruno’s San Francisco office is at 415 Mission St, CA 94105, a short walk from the Salesforce Transit Center. You’re welcome there for a scoping workshop or a design review. Since part of the team sits in Paris, nine hours ahead, feedback sent at 5 p.m. from Mission Street can be built overnight. For once, the time difference is on your side.

What does a web development project with Bruno include?

A web development project at Bruno runs from page architecture to maintenance, with the build, the CMS and performance in between. The design is signed off on a prototype before any code is written, then our developers build in Framer, Webflow or React, depending on who will run the site. There’s more on our web development page. After launch, the same developers pick up when you call.

Which websites and digital products has Bruno worked on?

Bruno designed and built the Qonto website, where visitors could try the app without opening an account, just to prove how simple it was. In San Francisco, the story starts with Uber and the UX/UI of Uber Works, an app for restaurants hiring staff at short notice. More recently, Cure51 got a new identity and a new site to rally a global research community.

Does a San Francisco startup expanding to Europe need a second website?

Usually not. Bruno builds one site with a version per market, each with its own URLs, rewritten copy and hreflang tags. Bruno’s own site works like that, with French, American and British versions. A second site only makes sense when the offer, or the team running it, really changes between California and Europe. Otherwise it’s twice the updates for the same story.

Can we redesign our site without losing search rankings?

Yes, as long as Bruno treats SEO as part of the build rather than a last-minute check. We identify the pages your traffic depends on, hold on to their addresses whenever possible and plan a redirect for each of the others ahead of launch. Titles, meta tags and structured data are carried over page by page. Done right, the redesign is the one thing Google doesn’t notice.

How long does a web development project take?

Bruno usually plans two to four months for a full website, design and build included. That’s an average: a ten-page Framer site moves faster than a React platform wired to a CMS and a CRM. Your starting point matters too, depending on whether copy and identity already exist. With Paris in the loop, some of the work gets done while California sleeps.
