Bruno is the grandfather of our founders, Barthélémy and Léonard. An Italian immigrant, he built everything from scratch: his businesses, his family. It must be said that he was a man of great courage and an intense worker. Bruno didn’t wait for someone else to do things for him. Yet, his demands never prevented him from being profoundly human.

FAQ

Web development agency in Austin

Why choose Bruno as your web development agency in Austin?

Because Bruno builds the sites it designs, with developers on staff and nothing outsourced. One of the two founders, Léonard Chalvet, learned to code at École 42, so development here was never a step to hand off. You talk directly to the person writing your code. And that person maintains it, too.

How does Bruno run a web project in Austin?

Bruno runs Austin web projects from San Francisco, at 415 Mission St, with no office in Texas. Two hours apart, we share most of the working day, which helps on technical calls. You follow progress over video, directly with the developers, without a project manager rephrasing your requests. If a workshop is worth doing in person, we fly in.

What does a web development agency do?

A web development agency turns designs into a site that works, loads fast and is easy to update. The front end handles what you see; the back end handles what runs behind it, from forms to connections with your tools. At Bruno, development works with the UX/UI team from the first screens. Nobody discovers a design that can’t be built the night before launch.

Which websites has Bruno built?

Bruno has designed and built sites for startups and established brands alike. Qonto’s let visitors try the app without opening an account, a demo worth more than any tagline. For Elevo, a talent management platform, the new identity and the website were designed together, to give the brand a calmer, clearer presence.

Can we have a new site ready for SXSW?

Yes, if Bruno starts early enough: the festival takes over Austin every March, and a site takes two to four months on average. In practice, a project started in the fall leaves time to design, build and test. Start in February and the scope will have to shrink. Better a shorter, solid site on day one than a complete, fragile one.

Can we rebuild our site without losing our search rankings?

Yes, as long as Bruno plans the migration before touching the site structure. First we list the pages that bring you traffic, then every old URL is redirected to its new one. Tags, titles and load speed get checked before launch. A beautiful site Google can’t find is a shop window on a closed street.

How long does a web development project take?

Bruno plans on two to four months on average for a site, design and development included. The range depends heavily on the project: a marketing site on Framer moves quickly, while a platform with customer accounts or payments needs more testing. Your content and approvals weigh as much as the code. The schedule is set in the proposal, step by step.
