Bruno is the grandfather of our founders, Barthélémy and Léonard. An Italian immigrant, he built everything from scratch: his businesses, his family. It must be said that he was a man of great courage and an intense worker. Bruno didn’t wait for someone else to do things for him. Yet, his demands never prevented him from being profoundly human.

FAQ

Branding agency in San Diego

Why choose Bruno as a branding agency in San Diego?

Because Bruno gives brands a personality people recognize, then the tools to keep it intact once the project is over. Strategists, writers and designers work together, with no freelancers. In San Diego, where plenty of companies sell science or technology, that personality is often the difference between a product people understand and one they forget.

Does the San Francisco office handle San Diego projects?

Yes. Bruno has no office in San Diego: the team at 415 Mission St in San Francisco takes these projects on. Same time zone, so nobody gets stuck with a 7 a.m. call. Day-to-day work runs over video and shared files. In-person meetings are planned when we scope the project, depending on what it needs.

Branding, brand identity, brand platform: what’s the difference?

Branding is all the work that gives a company a consistent brand; identity and platform are parts of it. The brand platform brings together the positioning, the brand story and the spoken pitch. At Bruno, identity then splits into verbal identity, from tone to name, and visual identity, from logo to guidelines. Three terms, one job.

Which brands with a strong personality has Bruno worked on?

Bruno has given character to brands in very different sectors. Greenly went for warm colors and shapes, for a brand world that explains more than it sells. For Zazu, a digital bank for South African entrepreneurs, the identity draws on South Africa’s design heritage. And Cordial brings data and marketing together under a brand that stays simple.

How can a San Diego biotech make itself understood by a general audience?

Bruno starts from the mission rather than the molecule: what the company wants to change, in a sentence an investor and a patient can both follow. For Cure51, a French TechBio that has set 2035 as its deadline for ending cancer, that radical ambition became the center of the brand and the website. Plenty of San Diego life sciences companies face the same two audiences.

How do you keep a brand consistent once the project is over?

Bruno hands over the brand with the tools to use it, so it holds up without the agency. Your team works from an online brand book instead of a PDF, and generative AI tools get a rules file that teaches them your tone of voice. Brands rarely fall apart overnight. They wear down one rushed slide deck at a time.

How many weeks does a branding project take?

A complete brand built with Bruno takes three to five months on average; a strategy-only project needs four to eight weeks. The gap comes from the project itself: a rebrand after a funding round, a brand created for a first product, a leadership team of two or twelve. The most reliable schedule is the one we set together at kickoff.
