Bruno is the grandfather of our founders, Barthélémy and Léonard. An Italian immigrant, he built everything from scratch: his businesses, his family. It must be said that he was a man of great courage and an intense worker. Bruno didn’t wait for someone else to do things for him. Yet, his demands never prevented him from being profoundly human.

FAQ

Web design agency in Chicago

Why choose Bruno as your web design agency in Chicago?

Bruno designs websites a visitor understands on the first visit, then builds them in-house. The method comes from the field: designs sent out, tested and commented on by future users, then adjusted. You talk directly to the designers and developers, with no go-between. And the agency already knows its way around Chicago.

How does a project with Bruno work from Chicago?

A project with Bruno is run from San Francisco, at 415 Mission St, since the agency has no office in Chicago. Chicago is two hours ahead of California and seven behind Paris, which leaves a shared window for design reviews. Everything else moves through shared links. For a European brand, the Paris team joins the project.

What should you expect from a web design agency for a B2B site?

A web design agency should first make your offer clear to someone who doesn’t know you yet. Bruno works on the sitemap and messaging with verbal identity, then the screens in UX/UI, before development. A B2B buyer is looking for proof, a case study, a demo. Adjectives don’t sign contracts.

Which projects can Bruno show a B2B company?

For LegalPlace, a SaaS for entrepreneurs, Bruno designed a restrained art direction for the website and app, mostly black and white, lifted by a golden beige. Work With Island sells acoustic pods to businesses, and Bruno built both its brand and its online shop. Two products sold to businesses, two very different journeys.

Can we test a website remotely with users in Chicago?

Yes, and Bruno’s co-founder has done exactly that in Chicago. For the Uber Works app, designs were sent to restaurant owners, who tested them, filmed themselves and talked through their comments, before each round was adjusted. The same approach works for a website: a prototype shared by link, a handful of real customers, and feedback nobody would have guessed.

Freelance web designer or agency: which should we pick?

It depends on what the site has to carry, and Bruno will tell you straight: for a simple presentation page you’ll update yourself, a freelancer will do. When the site has to serve several teams, several languages and last, an agency brings strategy, design, copy and code together. Everyone on the project is a Bruno employee. Your website won’t go on vacation with the person who made it.

What’s a realistic turnaround for a B2B website redesign?

For a B2B website, Bruno typically plans two to four months from scoping to launch. Each project still sets its own pace: rewriting case studies and messaging for a new audience takes longer than a visual refresh, and every department that signs off adds a round. The schedule is shared in week one.
