Bruno is the grandfather of our founders, Barthélémy and Léonard. An Italian immigrant, he built everything from scratch: his businesses, his family. It must be said that he was a man of great courage and an intense worker. Bruno didn’t wait for someone else to do things for him. Yet, his demands never prevented him from being profoundly human.

FAQ

Branding agency in Washington DC

Why choose Bruno as a branding agency in Washington DC?

Because Bruno knows how to give a brand authority without making it distant, for institutions, investors and the public alike. Strategy, writing and design are handled by an in-house team, with no freelancers. Your comments go straight to the specialists on your project. Nobody rewords them along the way.

Where does Bruno run Washington DC projects from?

Bruno runs Washington DC projects from San Francisco, at 415 Mission St, and from Paris; there is no office in the capital. California is three hours behind you, Paris six hours ahead. The upshot: someone is almost always awake and working on your file. Meetings and workshops happen over video, at times that suit you.

Can you hire a branding agency for just one part of your brand?

Yes, a branding agency like Bruno can work on a single layer of the brand. Some organizations first need to clarify their positioning ahead of a deadline; others keep their message and only rework their visual identity or their website. We’ll tell you honestly if the piece you’ve picked stands up without the rest. Sometimes it does. Sometimes a step is missing.

Which Bruno projects deal with sensitive fields?

Bruno has already worked on brands where trust comes first, from privacy to mission-critical systems. Qwant, the search engine that knows nothing about you, now integrates AI without giving up that promise. Celeres integrates and supports the systems that defense, transport and public services depend on. In both cases, every word of the brand was weighed.

How do you approach branding for a public institution?

Bruno starts with the constraints, because a public institution has more of them than a company, and they’re part of its credibility. For the Alaska State Archives, the agency redesigned the entire interface within the rules of a government body and put the archival documents themselves front and center. In DC, federal agencies, associations and foundations share the challenge: serve everyone without looking like a form.

How do you give a brand authority without making it cold?

Bruno looks for authority in precision rather than solemnity. For AIUC, which certifies and insures AI agents, the identity had to carry the rigor of a standard meant to shape an entire industry. As a rule, clean type and exact wording reassure people more than a coat of arms. The tone can stay plain. People trust those who speak clearly.

What’s the usual length of a branding project?

Bruno’s full branding projects run three to five months on average. For an institution, the real timeline mostly depends on the approval chain: committees, a board, sometimes an oversight body. We build that into the schedule from the start rather than discovering it at the last step. An organization that decides quickly can aim for the low end of the range.
