Bruno is the grandfather of our founders, Barthélémy and Léonard. An Italian immigrant, he built everything from scratch: his businesses, his family. It must be said that he was a man of great courage and an intense worker. Bruno didn’t wait for someone else to do things for him. Yet, his demands never prevented him from being profoundly human.

FAQ

Web development agency in Chicago

Why choose Bruno as your web development agency in Chicago?

Because Bruno designs and develops within the same team, which avoids the handoff where sites get lost. Developers are on staff, like the designers, and you reach them directly. Before founding the agency, Barthélémy Chalvet designed the UX of an app tested by Chicago restaurant owners. So the city isn’t entirely new to us.

Which office does Bruno work with Chicago from?

Bruno works with Chicago from San Francisco, at 415 Mission St, with no office in the Midwest. Chicago runs on Central time: at 9 a.m. your time, it’s 7 a.m. in California, and the rest of the day overlaps comfortably. Paris, seven hours ahead of you, can join the project if needed. Check-ins happen over video.

How does a web development project unfold?

A web development project starts with scoping and a sitemap, moves through a prototype you can test, and only then gets to code. At Bruno, UX/UI and development work together from the prototype on. Testing comes next, before launch. Skipping a step rarely saves time.

Which e-commerce and service sites has Bruno built?

Bruno took Work With Island, a maker of acoustic booths, from strategy and branding through to its e-commerce site. Homebox, a storage company, and Cordial, a marketing platform, are also among the agency’s web projects. Three very different businesses with the same need: a site people understand quickly and that can keep evolving.

Has Bruno worked with users in Chicago before?

Yes: before Bruno even existed, Barthélémy Chalvet designed the UX for Uber Works, tested with restaurant owners in Chicago. The app let them hire a server or a dishwasher for that same evening. Mockups were sent to them, tested on camera, commented on, then fixed. The Uber project set a habit the agency still keeps: test with real users.

Should we rebrand before rebuilding our website?

Not always, but Bruno asks before coding, because a website quickly exposes a fuzzy brand. If your positioning holds, we build on your existing identity. If it’s shaky, it’s better to handle the visual identity and the site together, with the same team. That’s what Shares did: branding and guidelines first, then the site launch.

How long does it take to develop a website?

Bruno delivers most sites in two to four months, from sitemap to launch. An online store tied to your inventory and payments sits at the top of that range; a marketing site with content ready, at the bottom. How many people sign off matters almost as much as the code. During scoping, we tell you the dates we’ll need you.
